As a female who has travelled to over 62 countries these are my top 3 items I take for safety reasons (and I want to hear your tips in the comments!): 1️⃣ A scarf! There are so many uses for it but the main reason it’s made this list is for body covering. In some countries it’s common practice to cover your head or shoulders as a woman. When I was hitchhiking in Iran I learned it’s actually compulsory for women to cover their head. Other bonus uses include using it to cover your chest or body if you’re getting unwanted attention… The best tip is to notice what other women wear in the country you’re visiting and dress appropriately to avoid any unwanted advances. A scarf is also great for a blanket, pillow, eye cover and you can wet it and put on your head when hiking in the heat!🥵 2️⃣This one is rather modern and I only recently started packing it… an AirTag! I stash an AirTag away in my backpack and when I’m away solo hiking or in places with no reception and I can’t tell my loved ones I’m safe… they can check my tag to see where I am. It’s also great for lost baggage at airports and for when you leave your bag at the guesthouse because it will notify your phone if anyone moves it or if it grows legs… 😂 Does anyone remember my bike nearly going missing in Italy?😅 3️⃣When I was younger this one wasn’t very important to me but after a few experiences lately, like nearly getting scammed in the Philippines, I am now always packing a power bank AND pre purchasing an e-sim for the country I’m travelling. This is so handy, when I land in a new country I have access to maps for public transport options, Google translate, I can call emergency services or access banking apps. It’s a game changer and in terms of safety if you’re solo, it’s a must. I use Nomad e-sim and if you want a cheeky free $3 to your next sim send me a message. 📱 This list could go on and on… but I’ll leave it to you. Tell me what do you always take on trips for safety? I want to hear from men and women! 👇🏻 Follow me for tips and to join my next adventures! 🎥 Video taken right after a waterfall swim at Purlingbrook Falls #solofemaletravel #packinglist #safety #femaletravelbloggers
