There should have been a manual crank to deploy the gear in the event of hydraulic failure depending on the equipment type….it would be interesting to see what the preliminary report says…

after seeing all these planes crashing in just a week I was thinking why they can't design a plane with a parachute like the one used for airdrops, or boosters to slow down for use in such situations.

There are collapse areas either at the beginning or end of runways. The walls are barriers and part of the design.

the localizer antenna cluster should not have been placed on a concrete barrier. that was unnecessary and caused loss of life

If there was a bird strike and it hit the wing getting caught in the flaps it could not slow down and may have not put landing gear down. Only NTSB will know…
