I always admired Carter's grace and honesty. The press constantly berated him as "weak". Meanwhile Ronny was propped up like the fake cowboys he played in films. And then there was Jimmy's brother.

The propaganda machine was first used in the US against Jimmy Carter, the right wing began pushing the "peanut farmer" narrative, and Ronald Reagan went around Carter to have the hostages held until after the election. The beginning of election interference through influence pedaling and it was brutal!
