(1/2) I said in the third slide show that the games in the series are based on traditional Korean games, which was my mistake. Most of the games in the series are games that were enjoyed all over the world, and most of these are Korean versions. So in other words, the games in the series are actually based on childhood games that Koreans enjoyed. There were also several traditional games, which were also childhood games of Korean people. . (1/3) This is just my theory after all, but even though many Koreans say they have no idea about the Jack and Jill game, people keep denying, spread false information saying that there is a Korean version of Jack and Jill, or they keep making ridiculous claims that Younghee and Cheolsu are based on Jack and Jill, so I just wanted to stop. Younghee and Cheolsu were not based on any characters, Netflix just compared Younghee and Cheolsu to Jack and Jill or Dick and Jane to make you understand better. They only said they were "similar" and never said that Younghee and Cheolsu were inspired by Jack and Jill. Younghee and Cheolsu were created in 1948, but even now, Jack and Jill are not very popular in Korea, and even if you Google them in Korean, you can't find any information about them. But I have something to say. Because of this squid game behind the scenes, so many people misunderstood that Cheolsu and Younghee = Jack and Jill, which annoyed me a little. The creator who created the Cheolsu and Younghee characters never based them on any other characters, they were just created for the education of Korean students. They have been well-received and welcomed characters in every Korean textbook since 1948, but so many people misunderstand and spread false information, so as a Korean, I can't help but feel bad about this.
