A friend of mine did this years ago but the thiefs had a magnet so they opened the door with my friends key on the other side. They twist the magnet and the key turned.

I don’t leave keys in the lock reason why? if I have a heart attack my family or friends will not be able to get in.

Your advice is correct, only IF the door hasn't a glass top. in that case, by leaving the key on, they'd just cut the glass and just take the key, making the burglary piece of cake! 👍
