@emma.e.ferrell: NEEDLEPOINT 101 - Part 6: how to get started and the easiest stitch to begin with! IMO the Continental Stirch is the most straightforward stitch to begin with. You just want to keep in mind these three things: 1. Your stitches should always be slanted to the right 2. Right to Left = bottom to top 3. Left to Right = top to bottom Once you’ve mastered your basic stitch, there are a lot of unique and decorative stitches you can start playing with! You can check your work by looking at the back of your canvas — no canvas should be showing! Hope this helps! 💞🪡 #needlepoint #needlepointforbeginners #needlepointing #needlepointtiktok #needlepointbeginner #needlepointstocking #needlepointcanvas #crafts #howtoneedlepoint #needlepointtutorial

Collette :
Small tip from a lifelong needlepointer who learned with Continental - it’s easier if you flip the canvas 90 degrees for each row, then you’re always stitching right to left.

Can you make needlepoint 101 a playlist? I’m someone who has to watch, pause, do it myself, and the press play again to repeat. 🙃

That’s so interesting because in cross-stitch you would want to see the Aida in the back
