I saw someone refrence the scenes as ‘fan service’ and like, I felt those elphaba and Glinda scenes could have been beneficial to giving more depth to their friendship.

I would be surprised if there wasn’t a studio mandated maximum runtime. The longer the movie the less showings per day per theater you can have. Studio wants to maximize ticket sales.

I simply think it was cut due to time. I think Jon said either him, the studio or both was already hesitant with the final time length if people would watch that long in theaters

Yessss 💯 People watch LOTR. I would not have minded the movie being longer. I was actually shocked when it ended because 2.5 hrs went by so quickly & my jaw dropped because just WOW at Defying Gravity

We didn’t need to see them choosing the color of the road AT ALL, at the very least we should have gotten the scene between Glinda and Elpheba after rescuing the lion
