@thenewsmovement: Pubs were forced to ration Guinness in the UK in the weeks before Christmas as the demand exceeded supply. Some pubs even went as far as to give out ration cards to track each punter’s fill of porter. Criminals saw this as an opportunity. The Guardian revealed a truck carrying 400 50 litre kegs(35,200 pints) of the stout went missing in the midlands. The truck was stolen from a logistics hub near Daventry, in Northamptonshire in mid-December. What happened with the stolen Guinness is still unclear. Diageo, the parent company of Guinness, have not commented on the alleged theft. Guinness has seen a surge in popularity across the UK and US. TNM has previously reported on the number of influencers and social media pages dedicated to pints of plain. The Guinness Heist of 2024 is not the first time something like this has happened. In 2007, 180 kegs of Guinness went missing in Dublin before Christmas. #guinness #pint
