🎈TUMMY TIME TIP🎈 When you place your 2,5 months+ baby prone for tummy time, make sure you help your baby place both elbows a bit in front of the shoulders. This helps create the optimal biomechanical position for good tummy time. It’s much easier for you baby to stabilize the body in this position. Sometimes it’s necessary to correct the position of the arms again and again until your baby is able to hold the position alone. Instead of holding on to your baby’s arms, try positioning the arms and then making a small “wall” with your hands to prevent the arms from going back. ❗️If your baby is less than 2,5-3 months it’s completely normal that the elbows are placed under the chest behind the shoulders. Does your baby love tummy time or is it a bit of a struggle? I’ve noticed that quite a lot of videos here on Instagram depict a back-to-belly rolling pattern where the baby arches their back and looks up. In this post, I will explain why this is not the best way to help a baby achieve a strong body. The baby in this video executes a good quality roll. She rolls over her stretched lower arm and looks slightly downwards. This activates and strengthens the oblique abdominal muscles, which are important for all the milestones to come. Therefore, when assisting your baby with rolling, always position the toy so that your baby looks downwards. Don’t rush the movement. The more you hurry, the more your baby will need to compensate. Learn how to contribute to a strong motor foundation and promote a good rolling pattern in my program “Tummy Time”. Select the “Back Dominance” program if your baby frequently arches their back. ❗️Use the code MOTOR15 today for a discount on the program 😊❗️ If you found this helpful, you know what you can do to help share the video with more people 🙌🏻 With love, Maria ♥️ (Your pediatric physical therapist from Denmark 🇩🇰) . . . . . #Babypt #paediatricpt #paediatricot #strongbaby #babyexercises #babyhack #newborn #babyexercise #nappychange #sensoryintegration #momhack #babyplay #motordevelopment #montessoriparenting #montessori #flathead #babytips #babydevelopment

You can easily create and maintain good mobility in your baby at home. This exercise is great for mobilizing the lower body, and it’s also quite effective for helping to expel farts when there’s gas or mild constipation. Try moving your baby’s pelvis in figure 8s, side to side and in small circles. When I do this exercise with babies, I find that it feels really good for them. The side-to-side movement is especially good for babies with a tendency to banana shape. Here the baby will feel very stiff to one side. Repeat the movement again and again until you feel that it has loosened up. Save for later so you can always find it again. ❗️FYI: My 10% website discount expires at midnight❗️ With love, Maria ♥️ (Your pediatric physical therapist from Denmark 🇩🇰) . . . . . #Babypt #paediatricpt #paediatricot #strongbaby #babyexercises #babyhack #newborn #babyexercise #nappychange #sensoryintegration #momhack #babyplay #motordevelopment #montessoriparenting #montessori #flathead #babytips #babydevelopment
