The holidays can feel like a battlefield when you’re dealing with chronic illness or weight loss resistance. I get it. The food triggers are everywhere—platters of things you know will make you feel awful but feel pressured to eat, anyway. The endless invites to see friends and family when all you want to do is hide away because you don’t even feel comfortable in your own body. And don’t even get me started on the guilt...😱 Guilt for saying no. Guilt for staying home. Guilt for not feeling like yourself when you’re supposed to be cheerful + present. If this is how you’re feeling, I need you to hear me: it’s okay to put yourself first this holiday season. It’s okay to say no to the second helping of pie if you know it will wreck your digestion. If you need to sleep, it’s okay to leave the party early. It’s okay to skip the event altogether if your energy isn’t there. The holidays won’t feel joyful if you’re constantly forcing yourself to give more when your tank is empty. This year, I want you to consider something different: What if you made yourself a priority? Not in a selfish way. Not in a way that shuts the world out. But in a way that sets boundaries and honors the body that carries you through every moment of this messy, complicated life. No one else understands the exhaustion, the pain, the frustration that comes with waking up every day and feeling like your body is fighting against you. But you do. And that makes you the BEST advocate for your own health. So, if that means skipping the food you know will leave you bloated for days, carving out time for a quiet walk instead of squeezing in another social gathering, or simply giving yourself permission to rest—it MATTERS. This holiday season, let joy look like what you need, not what anyone else expects. Let peace come from knowing you’re putting your health + happiness first. Because you’re not just surviving another holiday. You’re showing up for yourself—and that is a gift worth celebrating. #cortisol #hashimotosdisease #pcosweightloss #nervoussystemregulation #nervoussystem #weightlossresistance #hashimotos #healingthegut #thyroid #thyroidhealing #guthealth #hormonalhealth
