In Finland, they only have public schools cause it forced rich parents to invest in public schools so everyone gets an equal education.

Our local public school is bad, disruptions in classrooms, constant lockdowns, fighting, general fear for students safety and not a lot of learning. We had no choice but to go private. It’s not as black and white as you are making it out to be.

I think it’s fair that each student no matter what school gets the same allocation and basically if the parents then want to top that up by sending them to private school that’s ok

it costs the gov less to give subsidies to pvt schools than it would to pay public schools to fit all the pvt students. it's the same reason their is a subsidy for pvt health insurance, to reduce the strain on public hospitals.

What about kids that live in regional or remote towns ? Town has no high school so boarding school in a major city is the only option. Most boarding schools are private.

My daughter’s primary school doesn’t have a canteen due to lack of funding…. When I went to the same school from 2007-2012 there was a tuckshop the whole time. Where’s the funding gone?????

There is toooo much money going into private education to the point that it should be classed as public. Why is the government puting more money into private than they are public? Public is gov funded, so why is priv being more funded ?

Private school is always semi government funding they don’t receive anywhere near the amount of funding public does u will see them fundraise for a TV for example like my sons school ad they have less

I pay 36k per year for 2 kids. I simply can not afford the additional 20k funding the school gets. The zoned public school gets 36k for 2 kids. So I just saved the tax payer 16k. You can thank me now if you wish.
