Urm, if my backpack is the one item I bring, I’ll put it up. I’d be willing to have it by my feet if it’s a really short flight. But otherwise…sorry? A backpack is less space than a carry-on.

If it’s my large carryon, it is. I carry a backpack and a purse. The purse goes with me. The backpack above. Don’t like it, sorry. I paid just the same.

Everyone is entitled to one carry-on in the overhead. Just because I don't carry-on my roller does not mean that I should not be able to use the overhead.

small items DO NOT go in the overhead bins. if everyone puts there small item in the bin there would be no room for big bags

I don’t understand why people bring roller bags on the plane and expect them to not get checked. That space is first for backpacks, purses, and laptop bags because they can’t go under the plane.

I put my book bag up, but it’s the only carry on I bring. I don’t think it matters if you have rollers on your bag or not. Everyone should get one space in the overhead.

Nah it depends not all the same here. If I have a carry on suitcase + backpack = backpack under the seat. Backpack + purse = backpack in the overhead bin.

I fly with just a backpack. It is smaller than any carryon. There isnno reason I can't put it up there like I would a carryon if I brought it

Shouldn’t it be more of a problem that airlines are allowed to sell seats and bag space they know they don’t have in the hopes that someone will pay for it and not use it

If y'all are so concerned check your bag! I pay for a carry-on so I'm using the overhead bin for my carry-on item. Most people don't even put their oversized rollers in correctly and take up multiple

My backpack slides right in there and takes up very little space. I think more time is wasted when everyone tries repeatedly to cram their giant “carry on” rolling suitcase into the overhead bin.

If that’s someone’s carry on they should be able to put it there. But I agree you shouldn’t be able to put any personal items in the overhead until boarding has ended. INCLUDING JACKETS

I use my huge duffel like backpack as a “suitcase” so it goes up top and my personal item with me under the seat
