The DMV representative told me this is being pushed back two years so 2027 it will go into effect. They haven’t updated the websites yet

DMV worker here, you only need the real ID if you don’t have a passport. Most ppl with passports get a Real ID as a precaution if they were to forget their passport!!

If you have a gold star or other symbol in the top right corner it is considered a real id some people might already have it. You just have to look on your id

Also if you live in texas and have gotten a new id since 2016 you automatically have a real id! It should have a gold star at the top😋

Real ID means you have a star in the top right corner of the ID it's self. It depends on the state itself as some will be gold others will be back as long as that star is there it's a valid ID

All permanent IDs in GA are real ID if you got it after 2012. You should have a star in the upper right-hand corner of the ID. Just double check to make sure

Don’t forget to check what your state requires for paperwork to get the real ID, I had to go back 3 times before I had it all!
