Definitely check with your vet but don’t let everyone freak you out. This is exactly how my dogs acted when they had kennel cough. She kept acting like she needed to cough something up.

We just took our dog in for this today. It’s a reverse cough. He has a sinus infection. It looks like he’s swallowing it down like ours was. Take him to the vet and try massaging his throat during it

My westie is doing this, she's recently been to the vets, they said her hearts fine & gave me antibiotics but I feel she's no better 🤔 she seems to do it more after licking herself.
