Except when someone says butterbeer, they’re almost always referring to the drink from harry potter and not this

that sounds amazing! I want to introduce my son to the original - going to try to make a non alcoholic version for him. He loves the wizard version of the drink!

This or something similar is 100% what they were drinking in HP, not cream soda and butterscotch syrup. It’s even mentioned to be slightly alcoholic in the books.

is this not what the Butterbeer in Harry Potter is? it's a warm, creamy, butterscotch-y drink with a very mild alcohol content

doesn't the alcohol burn off cooking the beer? or are you just lightly warming it

The way I was so disappointed when I first tried butterbeer and it’s wasn’t even close to something like this. I will never understand why they opted for butterscotch cream soda

I don't drink alcohol. What can I substitute the ale for? Can I use apple cider(not hard cider) instead?

Hi, Millenial HP fan here, so you know it’s my personality. It’s literally exactly what wizards drink. Like I would say almost verbatim what’s quoted in the books. ◡̈

I think this actually might be exactly what they drink in Harry Potter, considering the way the author set that world up.

OK, but if one doesn’t like b33r, would one still like this? Cause it sounds AWESOME but I CAN’T STAND b33r.

people saying "it can't be alcoholic because they drink it at 13" - my school formal dinners allowed us to drink wine and port when we were that age too, that's how boarding schools work

That explains why it gets elves drunk and Ron says that it’s not strong (in regards to alcohol)

Why wouldn’t this be what they drink in Harry Potter? In book five harry mentions butter beer is mildly alcoholic when talking about Winky the house elf’s alcoholism
