If you don't already i would highly recommend buying reptiles sand or playsand that has been baked in the open to remove bacteria. You can put this in a deep dish and they can burrow and clean

Wheel is really not appropriate, he need a bigger wheel , and an other cage like fishtank , in there he can burrow

Don’t say it’s bigger in person and not abusive I can see how big it is it needs to be 100 cm minimum by 50 you can get a bin cage which is a cheep option

he needs a large fishtank not a cage with bars. least 3foot . also fill it half with sawdust or sand

I’ve got a hamster my self you need hides,tubs for sand and coco soil and new wheel 10-20 of bedding for it to borrow and some tunnels and many more but also a new wheel aswell 31cm
