I'm a boomer and I agree. I've been trying to declutter my house for a while but it's a lot. I'm not a hoarder by any means but 30 years of people's junk takes a lot to sort through.

This year for Xmas I wrapped the stuff the adult children left at our house for their Xmas presents!! And for birthdays they are getting that too!!

My grandparents weren't hoarders but my Nana grew up in WWII London on rations. Everything had to be saved and reused. We would do well to adopt some of that for the environment & our finances.

My daughter complains about how messy our house is but a lot of the stuff here belongs to her. I ask her if I can get rid of things and she says no. I then ask if she can take the items to her place but she says she doesn’t have enough room.

My dad hid his “collections” in the unused bedrooms and garage. My brother and I have quietly cleaned things out. Never once thought to embarrass him and post on social media.

I’m in my 70’s. My kids know there are memories attached to so much of my ‘stuff’. I want to get rid of a lot of it and I do some everyday.

my grandparents recently took some of their broken jewelry and not broken jewelry, had them melted down and remade them into necklaces for the daughters and granddaughters

My wife and her brothers helped their mom clean out their house and 2 storage sheds. Two years later her house was stacked floor to ceiling with stuff be bought at thrift stores. There is no point.
