one specific caveat here, is you don't necessarily have to add something to the stack in order to reset priority. although reset priority isn't really what it is it's more so start priority again.

I thought in MTG once the stack starts resolving it fully unwinds, rather than being able to add back on?

question (using the example you gave) when P is passed to P4 can they only add 1 spell to stack and be foreced to pass or can they also add multiple things to stack then pass P
