I’ve experienced both and the physical symptoms fade. Yes it can leave a mental scar but omg verbal abuse cuts deep as well. You’ll literally think of the words over and over for so long

I had verbal, emotional and physical abuse from my own parents growing up. And I swear that the form of abuse that impacted me and gave me the most trauma for years till this day (I’m now 26 and a mom of 2), is the emotional and verbal abuse. I still remember the physical abuse, but it doesn’t really play a huge part in my trauma
