All appliances are like this now. They used to offer lifetime warranties. Now it’s 1-2 years. Products are only designed to last as long as the basic warranty 🤦🏼♀️

The old bulbs you're glazing would get extremely dim to the point of being useless, they would also get extremely hot from 95% of the energy being wasted as heat.

Incandescent bulbs can only last that long if they're so underpowered as to be completely useless. Yes there were some back-room deals for planned obsolescence, but 100 years was never in the cards.
