this is not how it's done in developed countries. There are lasers, accelerometers, vibration sensors, computers etc. I spent 20 years as a helicopter tech in the military.

I did it on a Gazelle 30 years ago once. The main rotor was literally just above my head height. An unpleasant experience. It still makes me cringe.

There has to be a smarter way of doing this – with laser pointers is one example and I’m sure there’s at least another half a dozen ways that seems beyond antiquated and extremely dangerous
