Ooh here’s another layer to this theory(warning this might make y’all cry), Big Poppa had some sort of relationship with Tiana’s dad(like they hung out as teens in the army and had a similar dynamic as their daughters.), made a secret vow at the funeral to be the father Tiana needs just like Tiana’s mom was a motherly figure to Lottie when his wife passed away(the two moms were besties too), and secretly goes to her dad’s gravesite and tell the deceased man how Tiana is doing.
