Breakdown of my focus routine as a business owner with audhd: ✨Remarkable2 tablet: this is a tablet designed to eliminate distractions. It writes like paper, connects to your computer, allows you to take notes, markup PDF’s, and I literally use it all day every day to keep my brain organized. @reMarkable ✨Loop earplugs: these bad boys are my favorite way to reduce stimulation (aka the screaming children on the playground outside my window), but still allows me to hear what’s going on around me. @LoopEarplugs ✨Focus Toast: okay… so this is really just a lamp shaped like a toast, but I only keep it on when I am in *work mode*. The ritual of turning it on when i begin work, and turning it off when I’m done or taking a break signals to my brain that it’s work time ✨Candle: scent is also a fantastic way to communicate to the brain. By having specific scents for specific tasks, it can help you focus and transition tasks more easily ✨Self massage: because…. Sitting at a desk hurts lol ✨Regulating my nervous system: In this video, I’m doing the “butterfly hug” bilateral stimulation technique combined with deep breathing. When our nervous systems are regulated, we have more access to focus, executive functioning, memory, and creativity. Even beginning your work day or task with 3 deep breaths can make a huge difference. ✨Fidget toys: I literally cannot focus without my slinky. ✨Visual timer: this is another visual cue to show the brain that it's time for work. I set realistic times (usually up to 20-30 mins at a time) and it helps me stay on task until the timer goes off ✨Background noise: the Loop earplugs that I use don’t 100% silence the noise (by design), so I like to have calming background music to drown out the NYC noise outside ✨Decaf latte: not essential, just tasty ✨Clacky keyboard: my logitech pop keys keyboard is my life saver. It makes working so much more fun because it offers more stimulation and makes a game out of typing. @Logitech #adhd #adhdtiktok #productivity #autistic #audhd #neurodivergent #mindsetmotivation #MentalHealth #emilieleyes #grwm
