Why are Google reviews more honest or reliable? I often find hotel reviews for say Booking.com or Trip Advisor are inflated too generous. But why?

Always read the reviews!! Sometimes people pay for 2 star hotel and complain because they expected 5 stars service, most bad reviews I saw on google before booking were useless

As a TA I check probably 5 sites but I do have access to booking sites that don’t have inflated reviews .. but yea yea I fell for this once never again 😂😂

definitely. I've booked a few hotels using priceline or similar and regretted it. I should have searched for their actual reviews. 😳😳😳

As a TA I check multiple sites, especially site with honest reviews from fellow TAs. And pictures from actual guests not the AI hotel photos.

I stayed at the hassler arguable the best hotel and most expensive in rome. I can say it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. $1500 hotel that was worse than a $150 American hotel

I found it to be the opposite. the hotel site has "better reviews" while 3rd party had bad ones AND pictures

Once i checked out at a hotel and there was someone who followed me to give them a review (and insisted on making me coffee even though I refused). I said I will and they insisted again on doing it right then. I opened the app and everything, and THEY CLICKED THE 10 STARS FROM MY PHONE

Agree 100% but a 7.1 rating would be a red flag for me. Also, I always filter by newest reviews, read those, and then filter by lowest reviews, read those. Check for trends in lowest reviews. ☺️
