My son was 2 months premature. United tried to reject my claim for the NICU for it not being “pre-approved”… like he was premature… how do you get pre-approval for an unplanned delivery?!?!

They denied my dad’s lifeflight (heli ambulance) while he was unconscious with brain hemorrhage on the side of a mountain. The bill was 50k and was denied because he didn’t have “prior approval” from his doctor.

A month after my mom passed we got mail from her insurance saying her hospital stay was denied because it wasn't 'life threatening'. She died literally 2 days after being admitted to the hospital.

Hospitals should sue for a safe and effective process, to certify that the hospitals process ensures the medical necessity of treatment & then insurance cos must pay or prove care or process wrong.

My daughter is T1D and allergic to humalog. But our insurance says “well that’s the only one we will cover.” And then her dr has to fight with them to cover the other brand. EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

I had a heart attack a few years ago - I was deemed non medically necessary to meet with specialists and a GP that could professionally monitor my conditions. I have been uninsured since.
