One of my favourite parts of the day. For one cocktail hour we realllly didn’t want to just have little canapés going round where people end up chasing the servers because they’re so hungry, we wanted our wedding to be a FEAST and it started at cocktail hour!!! We had the most incredible caterers in John Joseph, when we started talking about what food we wanted he asked us what we liked, what we didn’t etc how we want people to feel. I LOVE shellfish so this had to be a big part of it, we had an oyster bar, mussels being cocked fresh to order and langoustines. We wanted lots of live cooking so there were interactive elements so guests could see how fresh everything was. We love biltong so we had a biltong tasting section. At our tasting we were blown away and couldn’t WAIT for our guests to eat all of this food and it went down very very well!!! We finished cocktail hour with a performance by Caspar’s niece @Hannah and she was incredible, and so lovely to take a moment to listen to her while taking in the evening light coming through the trees ✨
