The underlying issue is the falling living standards, increased disparity between rich and poor. If people could afford to live they wouldn't have to resort to theft.

I used to work in a Caffè Nero, minimum wage isn’t worth the drama and you are so busy taking orders etc. Also if someone is taking sandwiches they probably need them

The discounts on supermarket food is often a joke 20% on almost off food. Why isn’t it sold off cheap ? Or given to food banks ? Is it being binned ?

In a supermarket in London a staff member stopped a shop lifter, the shop lifter died, store got sued, store didn’t have insurance as staff member wasn’t trained to stop thieves
