My old manager did a training session and said your stress is your fault, if stressed you can just remove yourself from the stress and it’s gone. It encouraged me to hand in my notice. It worked 😂

Depending on what industry he's in, that could have been HR trying to further demoralize him so he will quit and they can hire cheaper, foreign labor. Tech companies do this all the time.

My story: I was burntout for over a year. My boss called me and said he noticed I was disengaged and bored but I should be patient and that my time will come. 4 months later I handed in my resignation

I worked at a place that wanted to have a BBQ at lunch, but said we would have to make the time up, but then made it mandatory when we didn’t want to work late, then let the managers leave early.

ours weren't technically mandatory but if 90% of employees didn't attend they would fire the eap guy. he was a great person so we went for him.
