Sometimes the Orcas come close to shore to rub on the gravel bottom.

when I was 16 I worked at the wickanninish in the restaurant in ucluelet and on my break I walked in the water and an orca almost beached itself coming to see me and everyone in the restaurant pressed there faces up against the window to watch me pet an orca... which was the second time I pet an orca... the first time was Skana in Vancouver in my 7th birthday now I'm 52 and smile every time I see one... thanks for sharing this...❤️

I live up on Northern BC and get to experience close up with humpbacks and orcas 🐋 out in the Douglas Channel.. it’s so amazing to be close to whales 💕

I did part of my PhD in Marine Biology at the Friday Harbor Labs! We spotted some many kwhales from the lighthouse north of the island! Wonderful place ♥️
