She was more worried about herself than my safety. As my baby’s head was already out, she insisted I turn over, despite the clear danger. Ultimately, I was able to deliver my twins naturally thanks to the unwavering support of my doula, who tirelessly advocated for me throughout the entire experience. It’s a sad truth that many hospitals refuse to deliver twins naturally due to lack of proper training. Instead of preparing and empowering their staff, they opt for fear and pressure, leaving patients to fight for their birth choices. This is why it’s so important to have an advocate by your side, especially when you’re vulnerable and at your most exposed. Doctors and nurses need to be better prepared. Birth is not just a medical procedure—it’s a deeply personal and sacred experience.
