Why don’t pilots land at the very beginning of the runway? I always see them landing on or past numbers, why not use the entire runway?

Use precision terminology “adding a little power back, back” is going to be a bit confusing. Like should I pull the throttle back or increase the RPM by pushing the power forward?!?
