@ashleyathomeofficial: Replying to @Mauney the Mini Donk When cash pay is significantly less than our out of pocket AFTER insurance pays their portion, what is the point??? #healthinsurance #americanhealthcare #americanhealthcare #directprimarycare #dpc
So do you still have a high deductible health plan of some sort?

Don’t you need coverage for catastrophic care? I use cash for every day things and have a cheaper very high deductible to cover for very expensive care.

I work w insurance. And this is def true, but it’s very risky with kids because the second they break a bone or need to go to the ER the bills are insane. Preventative care is cheap.

Dumped mine. Put the premium $ into high-yield acct. No problems paying for cardio doc, internist, tests, procedures & meds. $50K bill w/ins. denials might as well be $50M - same lifetime pmt.

I would be so thankful if I was healthy enough to do this. I max out my out of pocket by May. I am so happy for you and your family.

Especially now that medical bills won’t be on credit reports. More people need to think about doing this.

The USA system is broken. $25k a year could be paying off MORTGAGES immediately in a matter of a few years. We give the rich tax breaks instead.

Question, don’t we get a fine when you file taxes if you don’t have health insurance?

I have a high-deductible plan and an HSA. Because a $7,000 deductible is a lot, but heart attacks and cancer and accidents are real.
