I’ve been incredibly blessed and fortunate at the start of this year, and I just want to take a moment to express my gratitude to God and to the people He has surrounded me with. It’s only been two months, yet I’ve already experienced so many great things. For the first time in my 21 years, I managed to win a competition—placing first in a local PRISAA Oratorical contest, which now qualifies me for the regionals and possibly even the nationals. On top of that, my friends and I launched @Fantastic PAWS Facebook page dedicated to feeding, rescuing, and transporting strays. The support and sponsorships we’ve received so far have been overwhelming, and I’m beyond grateful. Academically, despite a whole week of unexcused absences (each one deducting 5–7 points from my raw grade, depending on the subject), I still managed to rank Top 7 in my MedTech batch and qualify for the Dean’s List. I honestly don’t know what I did to deserve any of this, but I do know that it’s because of the people God has placed in my life. Aside from all the materialistic things I am very thankful for having a partner who supports and cares for me in everything I do, a father who worked tirelessly to give me a life of little to no worry and who taught me how to be a man, a mother who always put me first and gave me unconditional love, siblings who push me to be better, a nanny who was like a mother that kept me away from vices and helped me make the right choices, people not related by blood but whom I can still call family, my seven dogs, who taught me the true value of life and unconditional kindness, my boys, who showed me true brotherhood to foster success and growth, colleagues who push me and whom I can truly call friends, fellow champions and high achievers who bring out the best in me, mentors who see my potential, push me to my limits, and whom I owe so much to, teachers who guide, support, and share knowledge that shapes my future, and most importantly, God who has always been there, despite everything I have done. It may seem like I walk these streets and halls as just one man, but what people don’t realize is that behind me stands a hundred others, with each having a sentimental lesson, each teaching me something invaluable. #fyp #motivation #forypupage
