Air Fryer Tteok-Kkochi 🥵 🌶️ 🔥 These may have been a bit too spicy for me 😂 adjust to your tastes! Ingredients: 2 cups boiled tteok (Korean rice cakes) Toothpicks (4 pieces per toothpick) For the Sauce: 3 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste) 1 tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) 1 tbsp dark brown sugar 1 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp rice vinegar 4cloves garlic, minced 1 tsp sesame oil 1 tbsp neutral oil (recommended, for brushing on tteok to make them crispier) Instructions: Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine all sauce ingredients: gochujang, gochugaru, dark brown sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Mix well until smooth. Set aside. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes. Prepare the Tteok: Pat the boiled tteok dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Skewer 4 pieces of tteok onto each toothpick. Optionally, brush the skewered tteok lightly with neutral oil for better crisping. First Air Fry Step: Place the tteok skewers in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. This will dry out the surface of the tteok, allowing it to absorb the sauce more effectively. Brush with Sauce: Remove the skewers from the air fryer. Generously brush each skewer with the prepared sauce, ensuring every piece is evenly coated. Second Air Fry Step: Return the sauce-coated skewers to the air fryer.Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for an additional 5–7 minutes, or until the sauce caramelizes and the tteok develops a slightly crispy, lightly charred exterior. Serve: Remove the skewers from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute. Garnish with sesame seeds, chopped green onions, or an extra drizzle of sesame oil, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy! #tteok #tteokbokki #tteokkochi #ricecake #ricecakes #spicy #spicyfood #gochujang #gochugaru #spicykorean #koreanrecipe #asianrecip #asiansnack #snackrecipe #koreansnack
