Take the linkage off the transmission side, cut the numb off, drill hole, run nut, washers and bolt through tying it all together.

Tack weld a washer on to the linkage after you put the shifter cable on.

Remove the shift lever, grind out the pin, drill a hole, and replace it with a bolt and a nut. if you have access to a welder you can weld the bolt in otherwise get the nut really tight. Afterwards

pop the rubber out. and drill out the metal arm. and replace with a lock nut and bolt. use lock tite. you'll never deal with it again

Drill the plastic out. On Amazon they sell brass ring cup that can fit. Than drill a small hole on the trans lever and put cotter pin

They make a push on clip that will hold at the end of the pin outside the bushing and it won’t go anywhere
