@muddlethroughmummy: Are heated airers worth the hype? I was kindly adgifted this product but there’s no obligation to post & it does not sway my opinion & am free to share my honest feedback as I wish to. I’m not going to lie, this was my favourite gadget discovery of 2024 & there’s currently £100 off the Lakeland one I have so I wanted to share my review so you can decide whether to finally jump on the bandwagon like I did or not because these are definitely still an investment purchase. I think it’s worth mentioning we’re a family of 4 & currently don’t have a tumble dryer. I was so sick of having multiple airers in our living spaces drying at a turtle’s pace so this has changed the game for us. It folds up pretty flat so I can slide it away the same as I would with my normal airers and even when it’s up it’s not too bulky. The product spec says this three tier model holds up to two wash loads but I’ve found the more you spread it out the faster the clothes dry and if you get the cover which traps in the heat it speeds up the process even more, I also have these mesh shelves for small items to stop them falling through the bars and the clip strip for smalls. I’ve just been switching it on and leaving it till stuff is dry but there is a handy built in timer for 1-12 hours, after which it automatically switches off. It costs about 9p per hour to run, compared to around 70p per hour for a tumble dryer so for me it gets a big thumbs up. Top tip: spin washing & ensure thicker heavier items are towards the top of the airer. If you have one, let me know what your experience is in the comments! #heatedairer #productreview #mumlife #laundry #mumhack
I have one at uni and it’s the best thing ever, I don’t have the cover but chucking a bedsheet over it has the same efffect. Saves so much money and time :)

Just get a normal one and then a dehumidifier with a clothes drying option. I dry a full load in about 3 hours and it keeps mould at bay too!

It’s the time and effort it takes to assemble/ put the clothes on/ de-assemble it’s all. Time consuming faff so definitely vote in a tumble dryer over one even though it’s more expensive any day 👍

Had mine for over 6 years (obvious a much older model) and absolutely can not recommend it enough! Especially with a newborn when you’re forever washing baby grows!

We’ve had the same Lakeland heated airer for 15yrs and it’s been utterly amazing! 😅 Two kids and two moves later it’s still going strong.

Just a question why don’t you get. Tumble dryer put in when you did the utility room as it seems there’s plenty of space??

I’ve a heat pump dryer that costs about 60c-€1.00 per load, granted it was definitely an investment but the convenience is fantastic and so cheap to run
