you see though the thing I struggle with, is that cops will just make up a suspicious reasoning just to see your ID and profile you. how do you protect yourself from that?

very simple. politely asked have I committed a crime. if he doesn't answer or says I don't know repeat the question until he says no. if he never says no say I have not committed a crime
