The last gift we give our pets is a release from suffering. It doesn’t make sense that our human loved ones wouldn’t have this option.

My husband did this a week before Christmas . It was so peaceful and I’m so glad he had this option . It took 12 minutes for him to pass away and he was surrounded by family 💙

Has anyone drank the drink and then suddenly change their mind? 😳Like have you ever had to pump their stomach? Or how would that work

RN NJ here. My dad elected MAID Medical Aid in Dying. He was so happy to have this option. My dad was gone in 10 minutes. Laughing and joking till the end. I don’t know if I could do it. Dad was tough

I'd be that person that would drink the anti nausea medicine, and then instantly have anxiety about my "last hour" and not be able to do it 😭

the part of about "not having a long history of mental health issues" kills me. so if I've suffered depression and anxiety my whole life and become terminal from cancer, etc. I just have to suffer???

My grandmother got this and we supported her (ER RN here). Once she had it in hand she relaxed, stopped stressing. And then passed peacefully on her own without it . 🙏❤️❤️❤️

Question, just out of curiosity - have you heard of a patient taking the meds then immediately regretting it? I get they’ll be asleep 10 min or less, but just wonder if any show regret?

I am going thru this process as we speak. I live in NSW Australia. I have meet two medical practitioners, now I need to do a final question/assessment then it will be decided if I am applicable, then I can plan the date of my goodbye party.
