basic costs just for stationery, text & workbooks can easily run up to R2000 in January.. imagine spending that per child & you have 3 or 4 children in school... uniforms are another issue altogether.

The average kid in SA goes through alot in this country. Fighting for uniforms,stationary, language, teachers, predators,food, clothes, cash for extra curriculars...I'm blessed that only finances was my struggle.

some list are asking for 24 red pens gr1/2 (x20 learner)=480 red pens a year- ridiculous!I can understand 12 pens/pencils/3 rubbers/2 rules/2 colour pencils/crayons -reasonable.no doom/blackbags etc
