The biggest problem with construction is bad management, the job is ok it’s the site managers making the job difficult because they don’t actually know what they are doing.

I started on site at 16, I done a 3 year plastering apprenticeship and had 17 years on site, I left last year to join the railway industry, like chalk and cheese. No regrets leaving.

I’m 21 and a ground worker I drive dumpers and 360s and I agree there’s not many my age I’ve met 1 other person my age but the thing is people ain’t got the graft in them and yes there’s bullying

I tired when I was 24 as a brick layers labour I kept being told I would be paid more with experience after a year of being paid 200 a week I walked off in winter and got an agency job that paid twice

That’s because it’s so hard to be given a chance I want to be a digger operator and I rang a company and they said no u need to be a ground worker for 5 years before we let u on a digger

I am retraining in to be telehandlwr driver because they stopped my grandfather rights for carpentry so I am not doing a nvq I would rather sit in fork lift all day
