We learned about prader Willis the first month of medical school. Current medical students are taught about it but I doubt the older generations were.

i had a girl at the daycare i worked at with unmanaged/ignored PWS and the mood swings/outbursts were so awful, but the poor baby couldn’t control it :(

are there any studies proving that it helps to start with the pws diet before hyperphagia starts? no sweets ever even if symptoms don't start another 10 years, idk if that's helpful or unnecessary

Somebody with prader willi syndrome has a defect in the hypothalamus, the area of the brain that controls hunger and thirst. it explains the hangriness she was talking about.

My dad had a patient with it and said her care worker had actual trauma working with her. It suvks because it’s nobody’s fault, it’s a very unfortunate condition

Dr’s thought my daughter had this but instead she had 22q 11.2 deletion syndrome with MC4R gene mutation which causes similar food compulsion & learning difficulties
