I had to do something like that . It was more like on how to get along , co parent etc, n the effects of divorce etc . It was mandatory for the divorce . I had to pay for it . Took 2 yrs for the divorce . ( Ky)

In the state where I practice, there is a class required for all parties in custody cases. It is not specific to divorce. I wonder if it’s the same way there.

when i got divorced in Utah I had to take this class. my ex refused to take the class and the court wouldn't allow us to get divorced. finally 8 years later, lawyers, and court proceedings. freedom

It seems some states out West it doesn’t matter if you were legally married but produced a kid together. Other people stated in comments they had to do it too.
