I refuse to shop at Petco and Petsmart. I have heard awful stories. When I shop for my parrots supplies I go to my local bird shop. It’s a little bit more expensive but I rather support the owner than support Petco and Petsmart

petsmart petcare employee here, they are required to mark the price down if they have been at the store for over six/ seven months, and i believe that if it’s 8+ months it should be 40% off.

I got mine from petsmart, same situation, he’d been there for over a year. Brought him home and he’s doing great and we love him so much!! Will be getting him a friend soon 💜🦜

There is a pet supermarket near me that a specialty bird was ordered when arrived the guy changed his mind so the bird was in the store for almost a year. Fortunately the store manager took him home.
