I always split it down the middle , works perfect , just heat it up and let it cool for a bit then push the middle in and work towards 2 sides

I always start from the middle and work each side out, but I’ve used this method as well they both work

You should really stretch to the deepest point first and then work air out to left and right to exit the holes
