I wish someone would tell hiring managers that whatever the weird rule is that they memorized for resumes, it's not universal.

as an interviewer, I don't think you need 2 pages until you have about 10 years or 4 relevant jobs under your belt. but I certainly don't reject a resume just for length.

if someone doesn't hire me because I have a two page resume, it's their loss. because that's ridiculous and there's no way I could fit everything important on one page

Hello there :
No more than two pages but if it isnt at least a quarter of the second page/ edit and make it one page.

Two pager is fine, just always assume that they will not look at the second page. Make sure that you can be hired on the strength of the first page alone, the second page is there for depth.

2021 college grad, i was always taught one page but more makes sense with experience. i still find trimming down to one page to be the best representation of my experience to now, but that won't last

10 years or 5 jobs- recruiter here and I don’t care how many pages as long as it’s 10 years or 5 jobs

I was never told it could only be one page, but I was told to make sure the first page gave people a reason to look at the rest.

I’m in a creative field, so my resume lists projects instead of jobs. It’s like 5 pages long and completely acceptable.

i'll update my resume depending on the job i'm applying too. Like for my current job I highlighted my education and volunteer work, but I was also applying to a landscaper so they got my skills

question for the recuiters: is there anything hiring that you don't need 10 years and 5 jobs for?

I honestly haven’t even needed a resume anytime in the past 5 years. I’ve had to put the information into every company’s individual system. I get that it’s easy for them but SO tedious to apply.

As a designer; good resume design can be placed on one page. Most people put fluff and unnecessary things on a two page resume, if im reading it don’t put a giant color block that’s empty w 2 pages

A Co worker of mine was applying for another job and she had 5 pages for her cover letter, yes, 5 pages for her cover letter! Need less to say, she did not get that job. 🤣

I have 12 years of experience within my industry. I’ve held 6 positions in that time. My resume is 2 pages but it’s filled with relevant information condensed as much as possible.
