Talk to the state leaders not to the teachers. The state mandated computer testing not the local school.

I agree that we should be doing real paper work in the classroom but can’t do it when we have budget cuts and can’t even have enough paper. Then we are told to make it on the electronic.

Because books… PAPER costs. It’s cheaper for schools to have online everything. Many try to avoid when possible but when they don’t give money for materials, teachers hands are tied.

Saying “teachers” when you really mean “administrators” is a huge pet peeve of mine. When a district adopts an online curriculum, the teachers are just as stuck with it as everyone else.

and yet education funding gets cut, teachers are limited in the number of copies they can make and are not given paper. So they can either fund the printing themselves or have the work on a device 🥺

Most teachers are limited to the amount of copies they allowed to make, state test are screen based so the kids need practice with it, and teachers don’t make these choices the district is

I wish our state test wasn’t online. I really love teaching kids how to read from a physical paper, but I can’t because I have to teach them annotation skills digitally to do it on the test

School screen time is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than home screen time. At school you are accomplishing a goal or learning a new skill. At home they are socializing, watching videos, and gaming!

Parents need to be speaking up about screen use in schools. It needs to be paper and pencil for 90 percent.

I am the technology integrator for my school and I can tell you we buy programs as a district that are must-use and the teachers are required to have the kids on for a certain amount of time.

we don’t use screens in my classroom. it isn’t everywhere. but also, teachers don’t have a choice, we are told what apps to use based on what programs the district purchases

don't have a choice here in Florida. all state testing and district testing done online so we have to have the kids on their screens and we get in trouble for making "worksheets".
