I had a crown that was painful for a couple of months afterwards but has since been fine! You might want to wait it out a little longer just to try to save the tooth.

DMD here! If you’re extracting a tooth, you need to at least consider replacing. Otherwise you can get drifting of surrounding teeth and a whole plethora of problems.

Root canals compromise the strength of the tooth, so it will end up pulled eventually anyway. You can get a flipper to fill the hole! It’s like a retainer with a fake tooth until implant

mine took more like a month. but I also had a root canal on the other tooth and it gave me sooo much trouble, it’s my to back teeth. i’m getting them extracted next week.

Ugh I’m a week out from a crown and still sensitive, pain when eating hits the right spot, and sometimes it just hurts sometimes. I’m really hoping it just healing.

Definitely go back! I have sensitivity in my root canal partial crown tooth over a year later but it’s not everyday 😭

When I was pregnant with my daughter that exact tooth started hurting me they pulled it and nobody knows unless I tell them and I always forget I don’t have anything there

Hygienist here! Have you gone back to have the crown adjusted? Your bite may be off. I would try that first and give it another week and if that doesn’t help do the root canal!

the crown didn't fail. you need a root canal. heat pain usually means nerve is dead. you would have needed the crown regardless. do not pull it. get the root canal!

I work in dental. Please don’t pull the tooth a root canal is easier to get done then a crown. See an endodontist
