I bought a 95 Nissan truck about 6 years ago and have only changed the alternator. Still runs great and I can actually use it as a truck!! Haha

Older vehicles are cheaper to maintain especially those GMT 800s and they’re also more reliable than the new vehicles and the parts for the old vehicles are a lot cheaper and easy to find

safety is the big one but I'd still not buy brand new I'd probably go for 2010+ thats when side current airbags became standard for the Silverado and Sierra

Lifters in my 2011 Tahoe kicked the bucket at 233,000 miles. Got an engine with 140,000 for $1400 and slapped her in here. I will keep this thing til I cannot buy parts for it or a car market crash.
