I got the dark matte navy blue solovairs for my birthday and the price difference (Canadian) between solovair and doc marten was maybe 40$? And it came with a free boot maintenance kit (polish, brush ecy) they look black but have a dark blue hue in certain light. I love them so much.

Solovair is NOT significantly higher quality. It still shares the same heat-bonded GYW construction that is not actually stitched. You can repair a Doc with the same method as you can repair Solovair

Dr. Martens might have made the first boot, but Solovair carried on with quality. Although I love Martens, after owning a pair of Solovair’s, there is a difference.
