Yes, this is why anti monopoly is so important. Communism leads to incredible suffering, and we need market mechanisms to prevent planned economy collapse. Economists hate monopoly too!

This reminds me of the concept of Market Stalinism that Mark Fisher talked about

didn’t Marx and Engels already describe most/all of this, or am i missing something? “Socialism: Utopian and Scientific” section 3 in particular seems to cover similar ground in just a few paragraphs

I mean, it might be possible to plan an economy like this but each year would get exponentially harder to do with very little benefits for the average person.

Book seems to assume capitalism is an argument against central planning when it’s really an argument against misaligned incentives. Walmart and Amazon built these systems because their bottom lines depended on it - when you take these systems out of that environment, what incentives will prevent them from stagnating?

Bro read about the democratic centralism. USSR was democratic. China is already sublating US capitalism through these exact same planning strategies and coordination ie. 5 year plans.

You missed the point of the book that centralization is inevitable and it should be handled democratically. The solution is democracy not decentralization.

I agree. In its essence, socialism is just a better version of capitalism. Communism is a better version of socialism and so on.

This is the central conflict - you can't have democracy and central planning. Most people are fools who have no business making decisions for society

USSR had math and economics PhDs in their “Economic central planning”. Historic analysis showed they were smart & detailed math models. But they still failed. Free market has people on the ground factor in knowledge that the centralized few planners won’t have access to.
